With a commitment to providing innovative banking solutions and exceptional customer service, we are expanding our global presence and are seeking a dedicated Officer for our Representative Office in Ethiopia.

Job Summary

The Officer of the Representative Office will serve as the primary point of contact for the bank’s operations in Ethiopia. This role involves supporting the bank’s strategic initiatives, maintaining relationships with local stakeholders, and promoting the bank’s products and services. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable about the banking industry and possess strong organizational and communication skills. He/she will be based in Addis Ababa representative office and will fly to Djibouti regularly (minimum 5/6 times a year).

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary representative of BCIMR in Ethiopia and promote the bank’s services and solutions.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with regulatory authorities, local banks and businesses, and stakeholders.
  • Conduct market research to identify opportunities for the bank’s growth in the region.
  • Coordinate with different departments within the bank to ensure all operations comply with local regulations.
  • Assist in the development and execution of marketing strategies to enhance brand visibility in the Ethiopian market.
  • Prepare and submit periodic reports on market conditions, competitive landscape, and business opportunities to headquarters.
  • Support the onboarding process of local clients and liaise with them to provide exceptional service.
  • Ensure compliance with local laws and regulations related to banking operations and represent the bank in compliance matters.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in banking, trade finance , preferably with some experience in representative or liaison roles.
  • Strong understanding of the banking environment in Ethiopia.
  • Excellent interpersonal and networking skills.
  • Proficiency in both English and French (Amharic and other local languages are a plus).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and familiar with banking software.
